Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1½ cups brown sugar

  • ½ cup white sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 egg + 1 egg yolk

  • ¾ cup cocoa powder

  • ¼ cup dark cocoa powder

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup chocolate chips

  • 1 whole bar of dark chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Make the dough
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
Mix in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk.
Add the cocoa powders and flour, mixing until fully combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped dark chocolate.

  2. Shape the cookies
Form the dough into large cookie shapes (about ¼ cup of dough each) and place them on a tray.

  3. Chill
Place the cookies in the fridge for 10 minutes to firm up.

  4. Bake
Preheat the oven to 360°F (182°C). Bake the cookies for 10–12 minutes, until set but still soft in the center.

  5. Cool and serve
Let the cookies cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container.

Tips

  • Slightly underbaking helps keep the centers chewy.

  • Chilling the dough helps the cookies hold their shape.

  • Add extra chocolate chunks on top before baking for a fancier presentation.
