Blueberry Babka Bread

Recipe:

Dough Ingredients:

• 4 cups all-purpose flour

• 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter, at room temperature

• 1 cup whole milk

• 1 tablespoon active dry yeast

• ½ tablespoon salt

• 2 tablespoons sugar

• 1 egg

• 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions for Dough:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, butter, milk, yeast, salt, sugar, egg, and olive oil.

  2. Mix until a smooth dough forms.

  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the dough overnight.

Filling:

  • 1 + 1/2 cup or blueberry jam

Assembly & Rise:

  • Shape the dough as desired (rolls, loaf, or twists).

  • Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 2–3 hours, until puffy.

Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 360°F (180°C).

  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.

  • Let it cool completely in the pan before removing and slicing.

Topping (Optional): Crumble

  • 2 tablespoons of butter

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons of flour
