Sourdough Loaf

Recipe

Ingredients:

    •    1 cup starter (200g)

    •    1⅓ cups water

    •    1 tablespoon honey

    •    5 cups flour (800g)

    •    1 tablespoon sea salt (20g)

    •    2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Mix the Dough: Combine the starter, water, and honey. Add flour, then salt and olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.

  2. Stretch and Fold: Every hour for 3 hours, stretch and fold the dough over itself 3 times. Cover the dough between folds.

  3. Bulk Fermentation: Let the dough rest, covered, until it doubles in size.

  4. Divide and Chill: Divide the dough into 2 portions. Place them in the fridge overnight.

Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.

  • Place one dough portion in a Dutch oven or baking vessel with a lid.

  • Bake covered for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for 5 more minutes to brown the top.

  Cool & Enjoy! Let the bread cool before slicing 💞
